The Herald Forum Presents a Panel Discussion on Rising Religious Violence

The highly pressing issues prevalent in Pakistan are far grosser than its political and economic instabilities. Crimes perpetrated in the name of religion reign supreme in a country that is characterized by poor governance and absolute lawlessness. The rising violence and intolerance under the umbrella of religion is now what defines the contemporary Pakistan on the global arena. Why and at what cost these religious war games are active on field and what can be done to combat the problem? Also, is state part of the problem? All of these make up for a heated and highly debatable discussion.

To counteract the situation, The Herald has stepped forward and invited experts of politics, human rights, law, civil society and journalism at Peache Niche, T2F. The panelist include Ali Usman Qasmi, Asad Jamal, Ayesha Khan, Babar Ayaz, and Syed Jaffar Ahmed.

The event will be moderated by Javed Jabbar, noted writer, analyst and media affairs expert, also served as a member of Senate, as well as Federal Information Minister.
