Students at IVSAA Bring Life to a Karachi Street

What idea would you perceive if you regularly strolled around a random, thoroughly-littered Karachi street and then suddenly one day you see a clean and pristine, and artistically transformed street instead? You nod your head in dismay, figuring out if you just lost your way or that dirt specked street disappeared overnight, right?

Well, it was 7:00 am on a fine morning of 8th November when a group of students from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture joined hands to take it to a street in Clifton, Block 2 to clean up the mess and paint beautiful graffiti instead.

With oodles of confidence and passion for life, these students began by loading garbage in huge bags in a well-organized manner. In a matter of a couple of hours, the garbage was nowhere to be seen, while students had already started to confer their creative flair onto the walls. They cleared off the wall-chalking into plain white walls and then painted them with the landscape of the city in green. By 2:00 pm, there was creativity oozing out on the street – it had come to life.

Well, this was a terrific idea executed brilliantly – however, the question remains as to what prompted these students to take an initiative so bold. Learning is a 360 degree experience when it comes to giving back, and who could have done it in a better way than those who keep striding on the learning path. On a brighter note, we can rest-assured that the spirit of responsibility still lives on and hope it stays forever.

TUC brings to you Khoobsurat!
TUC has always maintained its personality as a light hearted snack for untimely hunger pangs and also light hearted humor. So bringing you this movie was a job no one would have done better than them! Fawad Khan has been an ambassador for TUC for four years and been a part of “The Lighter Side of Life”. TUC now chose to bring Khoobsurat to Pakistan and basically spread some love and of course laughter!
The love story of Vikram Rathore with his love interest Dr. Milli Chakravarty is told in Bollywood style but with a big splash from Disney, India. Khoobsurat is directed by Shashanka Ghosh of 2009 comedy Quick Gun Murugun fame and produced by Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The film in its trailer shows bright colors, animated characters and a catchy score by Sunidhi Chauhan!

Adidas Promotes FIFA 2014 in Pakistan through Digital Competition

Mobilink Brings Pakistan’s First 3G Enabled Dongle

The largest telecommunication network of Pakistan, Mobilink recently broke the ice by introducing the first 3G enabled USB Dongle in Pakistan.

Branded with the name of speednet, the device comes with a free trial for 3G services and offers high speed internet reaching up to 7.2 Mbps.

“In line with Mobilink’s strategy of providing quality experience to its customers Mobilink will launch products and services that maximize the utility of our 10MHz 3G spectrum”, said Aamer Manzoor, Head of Data, Mobilink, while highlighting the prospects of Mobilink with line with 3G services in the future.

3G enthusiasts can get this device for Rs. 2500, which enjoys compatibility with all laptop brands. With a plug and play software, this dongle comes without a data plan for now, and hence would work free of charge.

Later on, after commercial launch of Mobilink’s 3G services, customers will be allowed to select their desired data plans as per their needs.

PEPSI Releases Its Cricket Centric Campaign – Dil Dil Pakistan

No matter how much one avoids it, getting excited about cricket lies in Pakistani blood. For years now, Pepsi has been an arch supporter of cricket in Pakistan and has harped on this sport to come up with different campaigns.

This time around, Pepsi has launched a campaign celebrating cricket called “Dil Dil Pakistan” along with the signature tagline Dil Maange Abhi.

Different cricket players have often been seen in Pepsi campaigns and this time is no different. The brand has taken on board various cricket stars together to ignite the team green passion for the ICC T20 World Cup. The Dil Maange Abhi, Dil Dil Pakistan ad sees Shahid Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Sana Wasim, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Sana Mir, Ahmed Shahzad and actor Ayesha Omar all cheering on for the team and enjoying Pepsi alongside.
